Yellow-rumped Warbler
The Yellow-rumped Warbler is a very cool visitor to our garden.
Latin name: (Dendroica coronata)
Length, wingspan: 5.5″, 9.25″
What they eat: Insects, fruits, berries, seeds, suet
Habitat: Woodlands, forests
Where they nest: Conifers
My observations: The Yellow-rumped Warbler is about the size of a sparrow. Just like their name, both the males and females have a splash of yellow on their rumps. That’s an easy way to identify them. Their bodies are a grayish-brown with yellow patches on their sides. They visit our garden during the spring and summer months.
