Video: Our Vegetable Garden
For this week’s video, I thought you might like a little tour of our vegetable garden. In it, I show how it’s laid out and explain how we water our raised beds. I also discuss how we use our hoop house and small greenhouse.
And last but not least, you finally get to see where I’m growing my early crop of lettuce. I started the seedlings indoors earlier than usual, primarily for my seed-starting videos. But my goal is to be able to harvest lettuce as early as possible because I love fresh salads!
A couple other items:
Want to learn more about how we built our small hoop house? Here’s a link to my blog post about it. The post contains the supply list and a video showing how we built it. I should also clarify that we built it in 2014 (I said 2013 in the video).
If you are interested in those “Cool Weather Row Cloches” that I’m using to temporarily keep the lettuce plants warm, here’s a link to them on the Gardener’s Supply website. We’ve been using them for a few years now and they are very handy!
Bill and I feel very fortunate to have such a large vegetable garden. It feeds us well plus we enjoy sharing some of the bounty with our community.
