Video: Garden Success with GreenStalk Vertical Planters

GreenStalk Vertical Planters, zinnias
I had to cover my GreenStalk Vertical Planters last night, to protect the seedlings from frost.

This year, I’m going to grow vegetables and flowers in two GreenStalk Vertical Planters. And I shot a video of the process just for you!

Gardening in containers can be challenging at times. Fortunately, GreenStalks are well-designed and their automatic watering system is such a game-changer! The watering system came out last year and is very easy to put together.

Why do I mention this? Well, watering is the trickiest aspect of container gardening Smaller pots dry out quickly, often before we realize it. In GreenStalk Vertical Planters, the water trickles through all levels and pockets. Plants thrive as a result.

We connect the watering system to a Melnor timer, which is connected to a valve under our deck. It runs for one minute each morning. Once the weather warms up more, we’ll add one more minute in the afternoon.

The above photo to the left shows a frost cover for one planter. It came in handy when our temperatures dropped.

Here’s the video:

In the video, I mentioned the plants I’m growing in the planters but here’s the list for planter #1:

  • ‘Epic hybrid’ eggplants
  • ‘Fantastico’ grape tomatoes
  • ‘Pizza My Heart’ sweet peppers
  • ‘Orange Hat’ dwarf cherry tomato
  • ‘Red-Yellow Bicolor’ zinnias (in top photo)

This is the list for planter #2:
