Overwintering geraniums is a great way to save money!

There are a lot of different types of fall garden tasks that we should be doing. And that is the topic for this week’s video!

In it, I cover both vegetable garden and ornamental garden projects you’ll want to take care of. These include harvesting green tomatoes before you get a frost. The timing on harvesting potatoes. Checking over your houseplants before moving them back indoors. How to overwinter annual geraniums. The importance of leaving seedheads for your bird friends. And many more garden tasks.

If you’re new to gardening, I wanted to mention knowing when to harvest crops can be a bit confusing. If you hit the end of the growing season and frosts are imminent, you definitely should harvest your tomatoes! It might seem odd to pick them when they’re green, but they WILL ripen indoors for you.

Another fall garden task I mentioned about was harvesting your potato crop. You can certainly pick a few during the growing season, but harvest the main crop in the fall.

I hope you’ll enjoy t and also find it helpful.

As I promised in the video, I will demonstrate how to plant garlic and how to plant spring-blooming bulbs in the fall in the next few weeks.
