Video: Garden Clean-up
I’ve got a brand-new video for you! The title is “Garden Clean-up & Update” and I wanted to share a lot of things that have changed in our veggie garden since you last saw it.
As I’ve mentioned, Bill and I were out of town for 9 days, and even though we didn’t get any frosts while we were gone, we launched ourselves into action the day after we got home! This time of year is always a scramble in the veggie garden because we need to clean things up, harvest what’s left of the garden and, oftentimes, do a lot of processing.
Take tomatoes, for example. I’m happy to report that those plants ended up being more productive than I was fearing they would, what with our challenging weather conditions. It was time to pick everything, start processing the ripe ones and ripen the green tomatoes down in our basement. Bill recently made a mild salsa which yielded 20 pints! A few days before that, we made oven-roasted tomato sauce. So our pantry is starting to look a bit more reassuring. And more canning and/or freezing projects will keep us busy in the coming weeks.
I hope you’ll enjoy this video about our garden clean-up:
