Video: Harvest Root Crops

Well, that was different! My goal was to create a video on how to harvest root crops. Sometimes it’s a breeze to shoot my videos. Other times, Mother Nature throws everything she can at me just to remind me who’s in charge. I ended up shooting this video over the course of 6 days. That’s because of a freak snowstorm and bitterly cold temperatures.

But I prevailed and created this video on how to harvest root crops. I also cover how to store root crops so they stay nice and fresh during the fall and winter months. For this video, I harvested leeks and potatoes.

That means I still have to pull up the carrots, parsnips, beets and rutabagas. But that will have to wait until all of the snow has melted! The method I demonstrated in the video for storing potatoes also applies to them.

I hope you’ll enjoy it. In the middle of the video, you’ll get to watch the snow falling and see the beauty of our winter wonderland. Well, even though it’s only October.
