Video: Elevated Garden Planter
A few days ago, I shot a video of the newest addition to our landscape: it’s an elevated garden planter from Gardener’s Supply.
As I explained in the video, the pandemic has made it very difficult to order garden supplies from just about any source. But it’s finally here and I had the chance to create an herb garden just outside our kitchen door. Hooray!
In it, I planted winter savory, tarragon, rosemary, common sage, Greek oregano, flat-leaf parsley, and ‘Hi Ho Silver’ thyme (don’t you just love that name?!). These poor plants have been stuck in a large pot since spring, which is when I initially thought I’d be able to get this new planter established! Oh well.
I love having my new herb garden handy so I can quickly step out the door, grab a few herbs and add them to whatever I’m cooking. And I also love the idea of elevated planters and raised beds because they are a great solution for folks who either have physical challenges or are finding it more difficult to tend a traditional garden.
One other thing I should mention is that I had originally planned to pair this video with my spring garden column on growing culinary herbs. Fortunately, you can still read the column.
If you’d like to learn more about this planter, here is a link to it on Gardener’s Supply.
