Five Seasons: The Gardens of Piet Oudolf

Piet OudolfAttention, Inland Northwest gardeners! There is a wonderful event coming up on Sept. 19 and I wanted to make sure you knew about it. The Master Gardener Foundation of Spokane County will sponsor the film showing of “FIVE SEASONS: The Gardens of Piet Oudolf.” (watch the trailer below)

Piet Oudolf is an influential Dutch garden designer, plant nursery man and author. He also is known as a leading figure of the “New Perennial” movement. His designs and plant compositions use bold drifts of herbaceous perennials and grasses.

This beautifully-produced documentary film immerses viewers in his work, taking us inside Oudolf’s creative process. You’ll learn about his aesthetic theories, strikingly abstract sketches and the ecological implications of his ideas. This film reveals how Oudolf upends conventional notions of nature, public space, and, ultimately, beauty itself.

The film will be shown at Gonzaga University in the John J. Hemmingson Center Auditorium, located at 702 E. Desmet Ave.
WHEN: Thursday, September 19, 2019
TIME: 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
