How to Ripen Green Tomatoes in 3 Steps
Have you been following my videos about ways to ripen green tomatoes before the end of the season? There are three steps to it. Just today, I released the third in my series of videos on what needs to be done in early September.
In order to keep those three videos together, I decided to embed them all here. That way, you can easily refer to them.
Here is the first video, which I produced in early August: the main point is to trim back those long branches.
Here’s the second video, which I shot about the third week of August. The two main points are to prune off more branches and cut back the water by 50 percent.
And here’s the third video, which I shot a couple of days ago. This one involves severe pruning to expose the fruits to more light. You’ll also turn off the water to the bed. And there are two other ways to stress the plants so they’ll ripen the tomatoes. I’ll show you how to ripen the last of your green tomatoes indoors.
I hope you have found these videos to be helpful. My 3-step pruning regimen to ripen green tomatoes really does work! As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to drop me a note at Susan@SusansintheGarden.com. I hope your tomato harvest will be the best ever.
