A Note from Susan

ATTENTION! If you’re on my Blog page and see this “Note from Susan,” scroll below it for access to all my posts… and there are LOTS!

Sept. 17, 2026 _ Hi, everybody! Things are going well here in Spokane, Wash. and I’m happy to report we’ve gotten more rain. I feel like I do my happy dance every time I see rain in the forecast because it has been so incredibly dry for far too long. On the garden front, things are going well. I’ve been catching up with various tidying-up projects throughout our landscape which is always a nice feeling. And we’ve been harvesting lots of veggie crops so we can either eat or preserve them. This primarily includes pole beans, tomatoes and summer squash. It’s truly the season of plenty!

Are you ready for my next video? Well, this one is lighthearted and fun: it’s the Potato-Growing Competition Results. You might recall that Bill and I have been using two different methods for growing potatoes and I think you’ll get a kick out of this video. Plus, I’m certain you’ve been anxiously awaiting the results, right? (wink, wink) But best of all, we’re going to have lots of potatoes to enjoy in the coming months.

And speaking of veggies, remember to visit the Grow Vegetables section that I created for my website. It is absolutely packed with useful information and tips on all of the most commonly grown crops. Click on the link above or look for it in the menu bar on any page.

Be sure to check out my Amazon store for the gardening products I use and recommend. The 3 books I’ve written are in there, under the “Susan’s Books” category. I receive a small commission but that won’t impact the price you pay.
