A Note from Susan

Hello, gardening friends!

Oct. 4, 2024 _ Bill and I just returned from a delightful vacation in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. They were such beautiful places to visit. I’m intending to share some information and photos from the trip in the coming days, so stay tuned for that.

There were 2 frosts while we were gone and boy, does that make you feel helpless when you’re not home to protect your plants! Fortunately, they didn’t cause a lot of damage. Look for my next video to see how our garden is doing: you’ll learn what’s still growing and which crops are toast!

I have the framework for this year’s “Vegetable Garden Report Card” in place under the Guides menu (look for “Vegetable Report Card – 2024”). I intend to start filling in my ratings and comments so be sure to keep an eye out for that.

What kind of gardening challenges did you encounter this season? Consider purchasing a copy of my book, The Vegetable Garden Problem Solver Handbook because it covers exactly what you need to know to be a successful gardener. In it, I address weather-related issues (including heat and drought), vegetable disorders and diseases, germination and pollination problems, dealing with all sorts of critters in the garden and so much more. To order a signed copy from me, just send an email to Susan@SusansintheGarden.com and I’ll take care of you quickly. If you would prefer to order it directly from Amazon, here is my affiliate link to it. Thank you for supporting your friendly author!
