April 23, 2026 _ Hi, everybody! We enjoyed some beautiful weather earlier this week and now it’s cooler and rainy. But I’ll never complain because we need the moisture so badly. This photo shows how our front landscape is coming back to life — it’s such a pretty time of year. I took it out an upstairs window. Just past our porch roof, you can see our large perennial garden, to the left of that is the pollinator garden, and our small orchard is on the far right.
It’s time for my next video and it’s all about growing broccoli and other cabbage family crops, but without having to deal with damaging insects. (this is the video I had intended to shoot last week, but our weather was pretty crazy.) In it, I cover how to plant the seedlings, watering and fertilizing them, using row covers and copper rings for insect control, harvesting them, and much more! Here’s a link to it: Grow Organic Bug-Free Broccoli.
Have you seen my new Fertilizer Guide For Veggie Crops yet? I had received a request to make it easier to know which types to use. Just click on the link above to check it out.
Remember to visit the Grow Vegetables section that I created for my website. It is absolutely packed with useful information and tips. You can get to my guide by clicking on the link, or look for it in the menu bar on any page.
Be sure to check out my Amazon store for the gardening products I use and recommend so you’ll be ready for the new garden season. I receive a small commission but that won’t impact the price you pay.
