A Note from Susan

April 30, 2026 _ Hi, everybody! Our temperatures are really starting to ramp up. I guess I have mixed emotions about that because on the plus side, it’s more fun to be outside and do gardening activities. But on the negative side, highs in the upper 70s seem a bit premature to me! But I have to admit this has been a glorious spring, with so many wonderful bulbs and early-bloomers treating us to a lot of color.

Considering how many folks within the U.S. are dealing with severe drought conditions, I thought it would be a good idea to shoot a video on ways we can conserve water in our gardens… both the vegetable garden and the rest of our landscape. Here’s a direct link to it: Water Conservation: Gardening in a Drought. I hope this will give you some great ideas for preserving this vital resource.

Have you seen my Fertilizer Guide For Veggie Crops yet? I had received a request to make it easier to know which types to use. Just click on the link above to check it out.

Remember to visit the Grow Vegetables section that I created for my website. It is absolutely packed with useful information and tips. You can get to my guide by clicking on the link, or look for it in the menu bar on any page.

Be sure to check out my Amazon store for the gardening products I use and recommend so you’ll be ready for the new garden season. I receive a small commission but that won’t impact the price you pay.
